Mrs. Essman received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Behavioral Studies from the University of Hartford, and has been a teacher at B.F. Gibbs School since 2004.  She spent nine years teaching Second Grade and in 2013 she moved to Grade Three.  A strong advocate of hands-on learning, Mrs. Essman incorporates many real world and technology friendly activities in order to achieve daily learning objectives in the classroom. 

When she is not in her classroom, Mrs. Essman enjoys spending her time outdoors with friends and family.  She has a 5 year old daughter and a 3 year old son.  Mrs. Essman is also an avid reader who loves to travel to new locations and experience new things.
