This is Alison's fourth year at Gibbs as a special education teacher. Prior to this, Alison taught for seven years in several districts throughout Bergen County, primarily in third grade. She received a master’s degree in Education from the College of St. Elizabeth, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Marist College. Alison’s favorite part of teaching is sharing her love of books with students, and digging in deep to a story they read together. She enjoys using Reading and Writers Workshop, and has participated in several literacy collaboratives to expand her teaching of the workshop model.

Outside of school, she loves to practice yoga, take long walks, go to the beach, and travel to new places. She has three grown children, two new grandchildren, and lives in Allendale with her husband.
