Weng Laoshi / 翁老师

Mrs. Weng Kirschner (called Weng Laoshi by students) has been teaching since college graduation, and joined the New Milford district in 2013.  For the first 3 years, she taught Mandarin Chinese in both DEO Middle School and NMHS and has only stayed in high school since 2016.   She is from a teaching family where everyone is an educator.  Her professional experience covers teaching Chinese to American college students, K-12 students and adults, as well as English to non-English speakers in both classroom settings and on a one-to-one basis.  These experiences have not only given her valuable cultural sensitivity but also great empathy for the problems of learning a foreign language.   

Weng Laoshi's goal is to ensure that in every class students will walk away with a feeling of accomplishment and success in either their Mandarin Chinese language skills or cultural knowledge, plus obtain learning experiences that they will retain for their personal use in the future.
