The study of words, whether alone or as part of a story, has always been a great enjoyment of mine.  Throughout my own schooling, I participated in drama, film, and literary clubs just to get exposure to as many different mediums as I could.  At Montclair State University, I majored in English with a certification in Education. In 2022, I received my Master's Degree in Educational Technology.  I went on this path in the hopes of bringing stories of the past and present to life and showing students new ways to look at and speak of the world around them. I have been teaching since 2012 and my philosophy is that everyone knows more than they realize. If they can tap into the everyday activities they do, most of the foundation of learning is already there. I have been teaching 8th grade Language Arts at David E. Owens middle school since 2014.

My goal in Language Arts is to get students confident in expressing and understanding their own ideas, as well as the ideas of those around them.  The skills of speaking, listening, and analysis can be taken into adulthood and utilized on personal, educational, and professional platforms.
