Ms. Alyson Burns
Hello! My name is Alyson Burns and I am a Physical Education and Health teacher. Sports have always been a passion of mine. I played soccer, basketball, and lacrosse at Mahwah High School. I then went on to play collegiate soccer at Montclair State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and a Minor in Public Health. I currently coach high school girls soccer at NMHS along with youth soccer in Mahwah. I enjoy staying active outside of school. Some of my hobbies include personal fitness, wakeboarding, cooking/baking, and traveling.
I am committed to sharing my passion for sports and fitness with my students. Through physical activity we teach positive values like cooperation, leadership, and honesty along with important skills; positive self-esteem, confidence, and self-management. My goal is to create a positive learning environment that encourages students to lead physically active lifestyles.
