The principle role of the school nurse is to support student learning by promoting student and staff health and safety, and to instill a life-long attitude of healthy living.  The school nurse accomplishes this through performing annual screenings, reviewing all immunization records, assisting with physical exams, caring for the sick and injured, and administering medications.  She also conducts in-services for staff, teaches health education as needed, is a health education resource person, works with the Child Study Team and the 504 Team and collaborates with other health professionals.

All students must have written permission from the MD and parent in order to receive any medication. Please see the attached forms.
