Mrs. Cabrera is a teacher of English Language Learners at Berkley Street Elementary School, teaching students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. She is bilingual and bicultural in Spanish and has been teaching in New Milford since 2006.  Ms. Cabrera began teaching in New Milford at David E. Owens Middle School, as a 7th grade language arts teacher. She obtained her Master of Science in Education/Reading Specialist K-12 from Long Island University. Mrs. Cabrera also obtained an English as a Second Language and Supervisor Certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Mrs. Cabrera has worked with various ages and levels of English Learners, ranging from beginning to advanced students of language proficiency and elementary learners to adults. In 2010, she was honored with the Teacher of the Year award. She is a member of the NJTESOL/NJBE, New New Jersey Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages/New Jersey Bilingual Educators. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
