Ms. Ackerman currently teaches K-5 general music and choir at Berkley Street Elementary School, as well as Kindergarten general music at B.F. Gibbs Elementary School. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from The College of New Jersey and is a passionate advocate of music education for students of all ages. 

Ms. Ackerman is very excited to be working in New Milford as the sense of community at Berkley and B.F. Gibbs has been so wonderful. It is truly an honor for her to be able to contribute to the community and give each student the opportunity to explore and express themselves through music.

This year, Ms. Ackerman will guide K-5 students in developing many musical skills including performing, listening, analyzing, singing, creating, reading, and writing music. In Ms. Ackerman's class, students will experience many different types of music and play a variety of different instruments. Students will also explore the expressive elements of music through singing, dancing, and movement.
