Mrs. Santoro
Mrs. Santoro teaches fifth grade at Berkley Street School. She received her BS in Elementary Education from SUNY New Paltz and her MA in Literacy & Cognition from St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, New York. Since joining Berkley, Mrs. Santoro has quickly grown to love the school, the district, and the community. She thrives on the positive energy that New Milford brings. Currently, Mrs. Santoro is a co-advisor for the Berkley Street Student Council, as well as the 4-5 REACH teacher. Within her teaching, Mrs. Santoro focuses wholeheartedly on designing student-centered and hands-on learning experiences that allow children to grow in ways that work for the individual child, while simultaneously challenging their developing minds. While this can be a challenge in itself, Mrs. Santoro recognizes it as a most rewarding experience.
When she's not in the classroom, Mrs. Santoro loves to spend time with her friends and family, especially her amazing husband and awesome pup, Ozzy. In addition to spending time with her favorite people (and puppies), Mrs. Santoro loves to travel. Some of her favorite experiences have been exploring America's National Parks and uncovering our country's natural wonders. Most recently she had the opportunity to travel to Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii and Glacier National Park in Montana, among others across the country.
Mrs. Santoro can't wait to continue her adventures both outside of school and inside the classroom!
